What Is An Instant Tent?
Instant tents, also known as pop-up tents, take seconds to set up, which is their primary claim to fame. They usually come with integrated tent poles but often include a separate rainfly and stakes for additional protection during inclement weather.
Instant tents make great beginner tents due to their relative affordability and ease of use. However, they are generally heavier than conventional tents and might not suit an extensive backpacking adventure.
In addition, the weatherproofing on instant tents sometimes leaves a little to be desired, and you wouldn't want to test your luck in storms or extreme weather conditions.
You can use it in your living room or yard for the kids to have a camping adventure while… well…. indoors, or use it in festivals or car camping trips when set up and take down speed will be most appreciated.
Pop-up tents look cool when they magically unfold, or "pop up" on the set up, but folding it back up can be tricky. You know how easy it is to unfold a map, but to fold it back exactly the same way it came can get a little… perplexing?

Coleman 2-Person Popup Tent
Dimensions: 7.5 ft x 4.4 ft / 228 cm x 134 cm
Capacity: 2-person
Waterproofing: 185T 68D Fire and water resistant polyester fly
Weight: 6 lbs / 3 kg
The Coleman 2-Person Popup Tent is an excellent option for those who are looking for a small, affordable, and easy-to-set-up tent. Measuring 7.5 ft x 4.4 ft / 228 cm x 134 cm, this tent features a two-pole design that makes it quick and easy to set up, and the included rainfly provides added protection from the elements.
With an interior peak height of 35 inches / 89 cm, the tent also has plenty of ventilation, with mesh panels on the sides and top to allow for airflow, however, when the tent is closed and the rainfly is on, ventilation is not ideal and it can get pretty hot in the tent!
Despite the rain cover being over some of the open mesh panels on the top that allow warm air through, this tent is one of the best for cooler weather.
Many users have glowing reviews on this tent's durability. Some report that the pop-up pole system hasn't failed and all of the seams are still watertight after being set up and taken down at least 100 times since they bought it. It has withstood strong winds, heavy rains, hot weather, and even a cold fall night and remains in excellent condition.
In contrast to traditional stake and pole tents that need a longer setup time, instant tents, such as the Coleman pop-ups, can be easily set up, taken down, and put away in a matter of minutes.
Need something bigger? This tent also comes as a 4-Person tent that measures 9.15 ft. x 6.5 ft / 279 x 198 cm with a peak interior height of 3.3 ft / 100 cm.
Pros

Toogh Waterproof Tent
Dimensions: 90 x 83 x 59 inches / 228 x 210 x 150 cm
Capacity: 3 to 4 person
Waterproofing: Oxford fabric with 3,000 mm waterproofing
Weight: 12.6 lbs / 5.76 kg
The Toogh Waterproof tent fits three to four people and comes with a unique 6-angle design for extra stability while outdoors. One of the outstanding features of the tent is the ease of setup. Just lift the tent from the top, and the automatic installation system will do the heavy lifting for you as the tent springs into shape. Setting up has been reported to take under 60 seconds.
For extra stability, you can pin the tent down with 6 stakes and 8 guylines once the initial setup is complete.
Another feature of this tent is the high-quality waterproof fabric. The tent is made of a 210D Oxford fabric that has a waterproof rating of 3000 mm. With the extra silicone coating, the tent stands relatively secure against wet weather and can withstand light rain.
Weighing in at 12.6 lbs / 5.76 kg and measuring a packed size of 40″ x 8″ / 101 x 20 cm, it isn't the lightest for a tent of this size but can easily be transported while car camping or on short hikes, making it ideal for hiking or fishing trips with family or friends.
The tent comes with a carrying bag, 14 tent stakes, 8 wind ropes, 1 rainfly canopy, and 1 inner tent, all of which are great to make your setup process much easier. The doors contain a dense mosquito net which helps to shield not only against mosquito bites but also against bugs.
At 281 sq inches of floor space, the tent will accommodate about 3 to 4 persons although four people will be quite a squeeze. It can fit one queen-size mattress or a few sleeping bags with limited shoulder space. Although it is marketed as a three to four-person tent, it would be more comfortable for two adults, or two adults and a child.
Its peak interior height of 5.5 feet / 167cm doesn't allow for many to stand up, change or move around without stooping, which may be challenging for taller campers.
The tent also contains circular rings in the middle in which you can hang lanterns and lightweight materials. Toogh offers a 100% risk-free purchase, as they offer 24-hour customer service for which you can raise a complaint in case of any problem that arises with the tent.
They also provide a 15-day money-back guarantee for any issue that you face with the tent and a warranty for 12 months contingent on any issues related to the quality or a defect in the design of the tent.
Key Features:
- Waterproof
- Lightweight
- 12-month's warranty
Pros:
- Can be set up and taken down in 60 seconds
- Made of high-quality waterproof material
- Lowered purchase risk due to the 24-hr customer service
Cons:
- Lacking interior height
- Lack of windows
- Can topple under heavy winds

Ozark Trail 10-Person Dark Rest
Dimensions: 165″L x 120″W x 78″H / 419 x 304 x 198 cm
Capacity: 10 person
Waterproofing: Taped seams and removable rainfly with 1,200 mm water resistant coating
Weight: 37 lbs / 17.12kg
If you are thinking about taking a family trip into the woods, then the Ozark Trail 10-Person Dark Rest Instant Cabin Tent may be just the thing for you. With dimensions of 165″L x 120″W x 78″H / 419 x 304 x 198 cm, this tent contains plenty of space for a group, and the tent divider effectively separates the tent into two rooms, giving you an element of privacy.
You can easily fit 3 queen-size mattresses in the tent or around 7 to 8 sleeping bags with enough room left for gear. This two-room cabin tent has a divider which gives you some privacy if you have multiple families or groups of friends.
The tent also has a center height of more than 6 feet, which is spacious and will allow taller campers to move around with ease.
Another nice advantage of the Ozark Trail tent is the ease of setup. Often, tents require you to attach all the poles individually, but as with most instant tents, this one comes with pre-attached poles. All you'll need to do is unfold and extend the tent and it springs into shape.
The tent also comes with a rainfly that helps provide some protection against light rainfall, however, in heavy, continuous rain, the tent seams might leak.
One of the most outstanding features of this tent is the dark interior that it has. Often when people go camping, they do experience the sunrise as early as 6 am, and therefore are made to wake up at that time. However, with the dark rest technology, you can sleep in or take a nap in the middle of the day.
The item package dimensions are 45.98 x 10.98 inches / 116 x 28 cm. It weighs 37 lbs / 17.12 kg, which, given the size of this tent, is quite reasonable. You probably wouldn't want to chuck it in your backpack and hike five miles to the campground, but to lug from the parking lot to the campsite during a family weekend trip, this tent will do just fine.
The package comes with a carry bag, tent pegs, an electrical cord access point, and a 6-month warranty. The tent also contains a gear loft, for which you can keep away all your camping gear, as well as hanging hooks for storing items.
Key Features:
- Dark Rest technology for minimum sunlight
- 2 room tent due to the use of a divider
- Contains a rainfly for wet weather
- In-built wall hangers and pockets for storage
Pros:
- 8 windows for a great outdoor view
- Multiple skylights to allow for stargazing
- Room dividers for extra privacy
- Easy to set up
- Provides an electrical cord access
Cons
- Cramped for 10 people
- Not suitable for cold weather conditions
Best for: Multiple families and large groups of friends
Gazelle T4 Pop-Up Tent
Dimensions: 61.4 sq ft / 5.7 sq meters
Capacity: 4 person
Waterproofing: Tent Oxford Weave shell with 2,000mm waterproofing, floor 5,000mm polyester
Weight: 30 lbs / 13.6 kg
True to its name, the Gazelle T4 tent has a unique pop-up design, as the frame is pre-attached to the tent. All you have to do while setting it up is pull on the side of the walls and the tent will pop up in seconds.
The tent has six windows and a door, all of which are mesh. This allows plenty of ventilation and airflow yet still keeps the bugs and creepy crawlies out. The mesh ceiling gives you even more airflow and room to stargaze at night when the rainfly is left off in good weather.
The Gazelle T4 Pop-Up tent offers a peak interior height of 78 inches / 198 cm. This is enough for all but the tallest of campers. You can stand up, change, and move around freely without stooping or hunching over like in shorter tents.
With an interior space of 61.4 sq ft / 5.7 sq meters, the tent comfortably accommodates two people and gear, contrary to the four-person capacity that it is marketed as.
The tent is made up of polyester material, more specifically, a durable 210D Oxford Weave shell that has a waterproof rating of 2000 mm. The removable floor is also polyester with a waterproof rating of 5000 mm, which is thick enough to not need a separate footprint or tarp.
The tent's waterproof coating holds up well in light rain and moderate winds. In strong winds, the poles have been known to bend and malfunction.
The weight of this tent is rather heavy at 30 lbs / 13.6 kg, significantly more than other tents of similar size like the Toogh at 12.6 lbs / 5.76 kg.
When packed, the tent fits nicely into a thin but long package, with dimensions of 67.5 x 8 inches / 171 x 20cm. It wouldn't be very much fun to hike this tent up to a campsite, but for car camping or a casual weekend trip, it'll work fine.
Key Features:
- Pre-attached poles for ease of setup
- Convex design for extra volume and space
- 8 mesh windows for extra ventilation
Pros
- Quick and easy setup
- Four wall pouch pockets
- Excellent waterproof rating
- Good height
Cons
- Fiberglass poles not durable
- Heavy to carry around
Best for: Small families and couples on a car camping trip
Moon Lence 4-Person Pop Up
Dimensions: 82.68 x 49.21 x 94.49 inches / 210 x 125 x 240 cm
Capacity: 4 person
Waterproofing: 210D ground sheet with 2,000mm water resistance
Weight: 10.8 lbs / 4.9 kg
The Moon Lence 4-Person pop-up is a waterproof family camp tent. It is also lightweight and windproof, wwhich makes it suitable for hiking.
This tent sets up in seconds. All you need to do is lift the top, pop the mechanism down, and click the joints in place.
This tent is made of 100% polyester, 190T PU material, and 210D Oxford Ground Sheet. It is sturdy and resistant to wind and water with SBS zippers that can close securely and block out insects and wind.
With 10 lightweight alloy pegs and included guylines, this sturdy tent can withstand moderate winds, staying stable with minimal swaying. The UV-resistant cover and 2000mm water resistance all work together to create a tent that can withstand slightly rougher weather.
Two large doors and two ground vents give adequate ventilation but the air circulation will be severely hampered if you close the openings in inclement weather.
At 82.68 x 49.21 x 94.49 inches (210 x 125 x 240 cm), the Moon Lence 4-person popup tent barely can hold three people comfortably, let alone four. For optimal comfort, two adults allow for plenty of living space. Three would be a tight squeeze, and four would be downright uncomfortable unless you want to sleep all stacked up and in each other's air space.
The two doors are a handy feature in a tent this size, as two campers can go in and out of the tent with minimal disruption.
This nifty tent weighs only 10.8 lbs / 4.9 kg and comes in a package size of 32.7 x 7.1 x 7.1 inches / 83 x 18 x 18cm. It has been having some durability issues, especially with the zip, and has been known not to hold up very well in stronger winds.
Key Features:
- 100% Polyester
- Two floor vents, two doors
- Fiberglass poles
Pros
- Easy setup
- Water-resistant
- Lightweight
Cons
- Zippers have durability issues
- Not completely waterproof
- Flimsy in strong winds
Best for: Families that have kids wanting to play in a tent indoors or on the yard
Ayamaya Pop-Up 4-Person Tent
Dimensions: 150″L x 102″W x 53.5″H / 381 x 259 x 135cm
Capacity: 4 person
Waterproofing: 4,000 mm PU-coated floor and 3,000mm polyester rainfly
Weight: 164 oz / 4.64 kg
The unique Ayamaya Pop-Up 4-Person tent fits up to six people in a tight squeeze but four comfortably, leaving plenty of room for luggage and gear.
Measuring 150″L x 102″W x 53.5″H / 381 x 259 x 135cm, the tent features mesh windows, a unique vestibule design, storage pockets, and even a lantern hook.
You can set up the Ayamaya Pop-Up Tent in minutes. It has an instant setup feature that allows you to simply throw it up in the air and it will spring into shape.
However, the Ayamaya Pop-Up Tent doesn't have great ventilation. While it has two windows with a mesh, it has only one door. You might find this too small for extended use, and the two windows are relatively small, letting in limited airflow.
The Ayamaya Pop-Up 4-person tent is made with PU-coated 190T polyester and taped seams. This tent sounds good on paper with a 4,000 mm waterproof rating for the floor and 3,000 mm for the roof.
However, this tent is known to leak around the windows and drip small amounts of water through the roof.
Once the water gets into the tent, it will pool on the floor and is difficult to dry out, so be warned, use this tent only in good weather!
Like most instant tents, it feels flimsy in the wind, and we certainly wouldn't want to test our luck in strong winds.
This tent has a vestibule, so you'll have room for muddy boots and wet gear.
With a packed size of 34.6 34.6 1.2 inch / 88 x 88 x 3cm, the tent is a bit tricky to transport. It is pretty lightweight at 164 oz / 4.64 kg.
Key Features:

- 1-minute setup time
- All season
Pros
- Easy setup
- Roomy
- Vestibule for wet weather
- Unique design
Cons:
- Single door
- Not very ventilated
- Unreliable waterproofing
- Flimsy in strong winds
Best for: The casual summer camper
CORE 6-Person Instant Cabin Tent
Dimensions: 11ft X 9ft / 335 cm x 274 cm
Capacity: 6 person
Waterproofing: Water resistant PU coated fabric and taped seams
Weight: 21.6 lb / 9.84 kg
Available in gray, green, and wine, the Core 6-person instant cabin tent occupies up to six people. With a polyethylene base material and polyester main tent fabric this tent offers the proprietary CORE H2O block technology for optimal waterproofing.
This tent is very easy to set up and can be done by almost anyone in under a minute. This freestanding tent does not need any pole arrangements, and you can literally throw it in your camping spot and get it up and running in seconds.
The Core 6-person Instant Cabin Tent has decent breathability with a ceiling completely covered in mesh. The generous mesh windows also contribute to the improved ventilation and airflow.
The tent uses the brand's H2O block technology and offers excellent water resistance. However, it doesn't offer a strong wind resistance and may not provide the best experience in very windy environments. In addition, the tent has been known to leak in heavier rains.
With a floor space of 11ft X 9ft / 335 cm x 274 cm, the Core 6-person instant cabin tent has plenty of room. It has a 6' ceiling and allows many campers to stand upright, change, and move around freely in.
This tent will conveniently hold an air mattress, chairs, and a small table, and the shape of the cabin tent also adds to the living space. Cabin tents and their near-vertical walls typically allow for more living space than the sloped walls of a dome tent.
The Core 6-person Instant Cabin Tent has a 21.6 lb / 9.84kg weight and a packed size of 47.2 x 8.8 x 8.5 inches / 122 x 22 cm, making it unsuitable for anything but car camping or use when transport is readily available.
Key Features:
- Instant set up
- CORE H20 Block technology
- Roomy
- Depth
- Weather resistance
- Adjustable vents
Pros
- Comfy
- Instant set-up
- Large gear loft
- D-style door
- Lantern hooks
Cons:
- Stuck zippers
- Difficult packing back up
- Unreliable waterproofing
- Door lets in water in rainy weather
Best for: Casual fun-day out with the family in good water
Coleman Instant 6-Person Cabin Tent
Dimensions: 10 x 9 feet / 304 x 274 cm
Capacity: 6 person
Waterproofing: Coleman's WeatherTec technology of welded floors and inverted seams
Weight: 27lbs / 12.45 kg
This tent is one of the bestselling instant tents, perfect for a group of friends or a family. It'll even have space for the dog! However, like many tents, it says good for six people but it would be way more comfortable for four. Measuring 10 x 9 feet / 304 x 274 cm with 6 ft peak interior height, it IS however, able to fit in two queen-sized air mattresses.
Air circulation within the tent is facilitated by windows on all four panels, but with the rainfly on, it can get pretty stuffy in the tent. Good thing the Coleman Dark Room technology blocks out about 90% of the sun and keeps the interior cool on hotter days.
Although protected by WeatherTec, Coleman's weatherproofing technology, the seams are known to leak water, and if you don't have the rainfly up in the rain, water will come through the roof. The side slopes of the tent cannot be made taut enough, so when it rains, the water tends to collect at the bottom of the windows and can seep in through the seams.
To keep out the rain, you'll have to purchase the rainfly separately or install a waterproof tarp over the tent. In addition, you might want to use a footprint or groundsheet under the tent to protect it from rocky terrain.
Coleman tents are most commonly made with steel poles or similar materials. This tent, however, uses aluminum poles and some users have reported relatively easy bending or snapping of the poles when the winds pick up.
It is best to take extra care when handling the pre-attached poles, considering the delicate nature of aluminum poles, but they make the tent lighter and easier to pack.
The tent still needs to be staked and the rain fly installed over the top. It is still not a lengthy setup process if you have two or more people working on it.
It may be difficult to attach the rainfly due to the height, but we still think it's super easy to do. Rain flies are attached to tents by Velcro, but they must also be pulled tight and staked down. The tent is even easier to set up without the rain fly in dry weather.
The Coleman Instant 6-Person instant cabin tent has a packed size of approximately 48 x 9 inches / 22 x 119.99 cm weighs at 27 lbs / 12.45 kg. In addition, there is a rip strip attached to the expandable carry bag that reduces its packed size and allows it to be more easily stored.
Key Features:
- Aluminum poles
- Dark room technology improves sleep
- Blocks out 90% of the sun
- Reduces heat
Pros:
- Quick assembly
- Spacious enough for larger families
- Blackout technology for superior sleep
- Ample storage pockets
Cons:
- Not good in rainy weather
- Rainfly comes separately
- Flimsy aluminum tent poles
Eackrola 2-person tent
Dimensions: 8.07 x 5.09 feet / 245 x 155 cm
Capacity: 2 person
Waterproofing: 190T Polyester with 2,000mm PU coating
Weight: 6.6 lbs / 3 kg
The Eackrola 2-person tent is a lightweight, all-season tent that is designed for two people, albeit in a tight squeeze! There is a 4-person tent of the same model for those that could use more shoulder and living space.
It has a double-wall construction with a mesh inner layer made of breathable fabric and a waterproof outer layer to keep out the rain on wet days. Like all instant tents, it is easy to set up and take down, and it provides the perfect balance of weight, space, and protection from the elements.
It is a spacious and comfortable option for any camping trip, with a roomy interior that can comfortably fit two to four people, and high-quality materials and construction ensure that it will last for many trips to come.
There are two doors on the Eackrola pop-up tent, which can be opened and closed quickly and easily to air out the tent. Moreover, the additional zippered mesh windows will provide ventilation on hot summer days while keeping bugs at bay.
Because the front and back doors of the Eackrola tent mesh all the way through, it feels as though rain could possibly get into the tent due to the mesh being all the way through both doors. Nevertheless, the tent remained remarkably dry after a sprinkler test, but has been known to leak during heavy rains.
Like many other instant tents, there is the possibility that this tent would not be able to withstand a rainstorm, but these tents were not designed for such weather conditions (or even snow).
The Eackrola 2-person tent is made with high-quality, durable materials that will hold up against the elements. The frame is made of aluminum and the fabric is a waterproof, breathable polyester, however, the floor of the tent has been known to have durability issues so you might want to use a tarp to protect it from sharp rocks.
The seams are sealed with tape to prevent water from leaking in, and the tent also has a rain fly that can be attached for added protection against the rain. It also comes with an internal zippered pocket that can hold a small portable heater that can be purchased separately for those that want to camp in colder weather.
It takes only seconds to set up this instant setup tent, which has preassembled poles. No more fumbling with tent poles when pitching, simply open and let go. However, folding it back is another problem! Many users have reported that getting the tent back into the package was tricky, so pay attention to how it was packed up.
A portable carrying bag is included with the package. The tent weighs 6.6 lbs / 3 kg and measures 8.07 x 5.09 ft / 147 x 243 cm. It isn't the lightest tent on the block, but for the casual camper, it will do just fine.
Key Features:
- Material and structure that is durable
- A handy mesh window keeps the interior fresh
- Entry and exit are made easy by two doors
- There is enough space inside for a couple to travel together
- Easily transported and store
- Well-suited for light rains
Pros:
- Insulated and ventilated
- Easy to pop out
- Sturdy
- Lightweight
- Great carrying bag
Cons:
- Difficult to put it back
- Floor material has been known to rip
Kazoo 4-Person Family Tent
Dimensions: 78 x 78 inches / 198 x 198cm
Capacity: 4 person
Waterproofing: 210T polyester with 3,000mm waterproofing
Weight: 14.31 lb / 6.5 kg
The Kazoo 4-person family tent has a generous sun shade area and vestibule, providing a dry entryway to the tent during rainy weather. Two doors provide plenty of room to enter and exit without disruption for other campers, and the spacious interior can fit two comfortably and three tightly, despite it being marketed as a 3- or 4-person tent.
Plenty of mesh cover the interior tent's ceiling and sides, as well as the two large mesh doors, there are many mesh areas. The full fly coverage can impede airflow when mounted which is no problem if you are having a nice bout of dry weather but might be a problem during rain.
Condensation also has a tendency to collect in the tent if the rainfly is up as the breathability will be compromised. However, this tent holds up well in rainy weather, unlike many other instant tents. The rainfly and liner are made of 210T ripstop polyester, while the rainfly is made of B3 mesh and 190T breathable polyester. In addition, an all-around taped seam ensures that this tent provides more than 3000mm of waterproof protection.
This frame has four legs and four roof poles that are connected by a hub on top that is elegant and simple in design. The poles have a diameter of 19 mm and are made of aluminum, making the frame strong and sturdy despite the material.
This is an instant tent, so the tent merely needs to be unpacked and unfolded, and its legs extended. Most people manage to set up this tent in under 30 seconds.
The Kazoo 4-person family tent can be difficult to repack if you've unpacked it without paying attention. With a weight of 14.31 lb / 6.5 kg and a packed size of 43.31 x 7.87 x 7.87 inches / 110 x 20 x 20 cm, it isn't the smallest tent, but will do well if you are car camping or walking minimally with its weight.

Ozark Trail Cabin 12 Person 3 Room Instant Tent
Dimensions: 16 x 16 feet / 487 x 487 cm
Capacity: 12 person
Waterproofing: Polyester taffeta 185T with 600mm waterproofing
Weight: 61 lbs / 27.6 kg
If you're planning a big group camping trip with your friends and family but don't want the hassle of setting up a massive tent, this Ozark Trail is for you. This three-room, cabin-style tent measures 16 x 16 feet / 487 x 487 cm, giving plenty of room for maybe not 12, but still, many people.
The pre-attached poles make it easy to set up, and while you can probably set it up alone, two people is better just because of this tent's sheet size and weight.
The tent has seven mesh windows, two vents, and two doors, allowing for plenty of airflow, and an oversized ground vent even can fit an air conditioner, if glamping is your thing! There's also an electrical power outlet so you can run your generator or electronics without leaving your tent door open and letting bugs in.
The shaded awning over the doors provides a dry entryway in inclement weather while there's plenty of room to stash wet boots and shoes.
With a packed size of 52.5 x 14.5 inches / 133 x 36 cm and weight of 61 lbs / 27.6 kg, it certainly wouldn't be fun hauling it in your backpack, but for a car camping trip or a casual beach outing, this tent gives plenty of room for the whole family or group.

- Three rooms

Coleman Tenaya Lake Instant 8-Person Cabin Tent
Dimensions: 13 x 9 feet with 2 x 2-foot closet
Capacity: 8 person
Waterproofing: Coleman's WeatherTec system with included rainfly
Weight: 35.4 lb /16 kg
The Coleman Tenaya Lake Instant 8-Person Cabin Tent is a great option if you are looking for an easy-to-setup and spacious tent. This tent can hold up to 8 people, making it perfect for larger groups or two families. It also has a room divider, which can be helpful if you want to create separate sleeping areas.
The main area and closet total 117 + 4 sq ft / 10.85 + 0.37 sq meters, allowing for each person to occupy 15 sq ft / 1.4 sq meters. A tent of this size would be more suitable for four or five people.
The mesh roof and walls allow for plenty of air circulation, which helps to keep the tent cool in summer weather. The tent also features large windows and doors, which further improve ventilation.
Designed for use during summer camping and in quiet areas with minimal wind, this tent is well suited to summer camping. 203 cm tall vertical walls make this a very tall tent, perfect for a side wind, but it would not last long in a strong wind.
The tent is made of high-quality materials and is designed to withstand the wear and tear of outdoor use. Like all instant tents, this tent can be set up in minutes, without the need for any extra tools or accessories. The poles are all pre-attached to the tent, so all you need to do is unfold them and extend the poles to their correct positions.
This tent is fairly light, weighing in at 35.4 lb /16 kg and measuring 34.5 x 13 x 11.5 inches / 8 x 33 x 29 cm. You can transport the tent easily for short distances but you might struggle on a long hike to the campsite.

ZoMake PopUp Tent
Dimensions: 95 x 71 x 39 inches / 241 x 180 x 99 cm
Capacity: 3 to 4 people
Waterproofing: High-density water-resistant fabric
The Zomake Popup Tent is a great option for anyone looking for an easy-to-setup and take-down tent. This tent can be set up in just a few minutes, and it is very lightweight and compact, making it perfect for travel. The tent is also made from high-quality materials, and it is very sturdy. The one downside to this tent is that it is not very large, so it may not be suitable for everyone.
The interior space is 47 square feet, and the center height is 40 inches, so you can sit up in the shelter comfortably and move around. In our opinion, a maximum of two to three people can fit inside, although this tent is labeled as a four-person tent. You can fit a single queen mattress and several sleeping bags, but it would be a tight squeeze with four campers.
Despite its small size, this model is well ventilated. A sunroof and skylight feature is also included in this tent, in addition to two large D doors on the front and back. For a more customized setting, the doors and windows can be unzipped and rolled back to expose secondary mesh layers. If you remove the rainfly, the mesh ceiling of the tent assists in the movement of air through the shelter.
Zomake has equipped this tent with a layer of 50+ UV protection in order to assist you in protecting yourself against the harmful sun rays.
In addition to the polyester 190T fabric, the tent floor is covered with 210D moisture-proof Oxford fabric. This tent is designed as more of a sun shelter for beach days than a multi-climate tent, so it can withstand a light drizzle but not torrential downpours.
To set up the tent, all you need to do is open it up, and it pops into place. It's really simple and easy to do, and you should be able to set it up in under a minute. The tent is also really lightweight, so it's easy to carry around with you. It's perfect for camping, backyard picnics, or any other outdoor activities.
Pros
- Fabric that breathes well and is durable
- Constructed with strong materials
- The windows are ventilated
- Large storage pockets are included
- A mechanism that automatically installs and folds.
Cons
- Folding the tent back up can be challenging
- Can get cramped up with more people
- Not ideal for families
- Not made for rainy season
What You Should Look For In An Instant Tent
If you haven't found something that floats your boat yet, you might have to look further. When tent shopping, keep in mind these factors.
Living Space
Tents often say "three-person tent" when they actually mean that there is just enough for two people and your gear. Make sure you check the dimensions of the tent and better yet, see the tent in person to determine whether it will suit your requirements.
Ventilation and Breathability
Those hot summer nights are going to wish you had a fan in your tent. Make sure that the tent you choose has sufficient vents and windows for maximum airflow, especially on hot nights. Ideally, you'll want one that lets cool air in through the bottom and lets out hot air through the top.
Keep in mind the windows have to be mesh, ideally, no-see-um mesh to keep the creepy crawlies out for a peaceful slumber.
Weatherproofing
Instant tents often have a detachable rainfly. Make sure that you test the tent in rainy weather before heading out for a long camping trip, or you just might have several uncomfortably wet nights. The seams of some instant tents also are known for letting some water in, so check the waterproofing before you commit to a purchase.
Ease of Use
Instant tents are a breeze to set up. With some tents, you can simply throw them out and they will magically spring up, all set up and ready for action.
However, putting it back together is a whole different ball game, somewhat like folding a complicated piece of origami back into its original package. Try to find something easy to put back together instead of laboring over how to get the tent back into its package at the end of a long, tiring camping trip.
Durability and Materials
Instant tents are typically less durable than their conventional counterparts. Look for one that uses tear-resistant materials and look out for any floor material that is too thin.
Some top-quality instant tents might cost more, but they are made with high-quality materials and construction techniques that make them remarkably sturdy and durable. Always check that they come with a warranty that guarantees against defects in materials or workmanship.
Packaged Size
If you are using your tent at home for the kids to play around with or if you intend to go car camping with it, then the size and weight should matter less than if you were embarking on a 5-mile hike uphill to reach your campsite.
Pay attention to the size and weight of your tent to determine its portability and compare it to other similar tents if weight is an issue.
